I've been given a choice on one of the flights I'll take as part of an award redemption. I'm hopeful some of you will give me the benefit of your experience.

Assume a coast-to-coast flight is involved (e.g. New York to Los Angeles). Would it be better to fly in Business Class on a 3-class plane (ergo a larger plane to begin with) or would it be better to fly in First Class on a 2-class (smaller) plane?

Thanks in advance for giving me your thoughts as I'm interested in any and all differences there might be.
