As I understand it, the OP does NOT have AA Lifetime Gold, but was asking if the 1 million AS miles redeemed on AA would qualify for that. Of course, the answer is no.
To the OP, you can not in any reasonable way transfer your AS miles to AA in a way that retains enough of their value to make it worth while. If you were just topping of an account to qualify for an award, perhaps, but you will lose most of the value in the transfer process and will not get anywhere near your goal of ending up with enough AA miles to qualify you for lifetime AA elite status. If you want to see what the horrible transfer rate is, set up an account on points.com and test out a transfer from AS to AA (without, of course, finalizing the transfer.)
The miles that count towards AA elite status are AA miles only. The fact that you've redeemed a million AS miles on AA has no bearing whatsoever on your progress towards AA elite status because they were not AA miles.
If, as you state, you are not going to be flying much in the future except for redeeming miles, your AA Gold will be be of limited value. AS is a very good mileage program with lots of international partners. In addition to BA and AA to Europe, you can also fly DL/NW and AF, giving you a variety of options to redeem your miles.
