Colgan (CO Express) full or empty?

Tried to book an award ticket for my mother using her miles. I logged into her CO account and was able to find an award ticket from LGA to IAH on mainline and then to a small airport on a CO Express (Colgan) Saab.

I went through the entire system to book the award ticket, including entering credit card info... When I selected "Purchase" I then got an error message and was given a phone number to call.

I called the number and was told that on the return, the Colgan flight from the small airport to IAH was actually FULL and not available, despite the fact that the search found it and the seat selector showed the plane was pretty empty.

After hanging up I did a search again with Kayak.com and directly with CO.com and again found the flight for sale...I also used seatcounter.com which lists the flight having a lot of availability with 9s in all the fare classes.

Is this a common problem? I just status matched to CO from DL and one of my biggest problem with DL was the crappy website, especially for booking award tickets.

Now it seems like CO's website is just as bad...

Is this a common problem? Is there a way to fix this? Who at CO can I contact to look into this?
