I did calculations about the Gold card and found the yield to be extremely low after April's Fool devaluation for most common redemptions options, and that was calculating a 110 € fee vs 10 miles/€, so an additional 400 for 2 miles... clearly it's not worth it.
How much is a mile worth? How high is your spend?
Say a mile is worth 1 cent.
When you spend 100K a year (only on "normal" spending) with the Gold card you receive 100K miles, so 1K amount a year.
With the Plat card you receive 120K miles, so 1,2K amount a year, so you earned another 200 euro on miles.
So for 490 euro, you need to spend at least 245K a year before it is worth it, when you only value the miles. And yes, that's why most people have this card I guess, so I agree there will not be much interest for this card.
BTW and OT: how much do you think a mile is worth? And what difference in your calculations are for RDM and EQM? I normally use the cent-calculation, but am I right with that?
