Not completely but it is a reason Id go there as opposed to some other stores. The main reason was the fuel savings along with this program. Now that the fuel rewards are gone and apparently the AS miles too, Safeway will no longer be my primary grocer of choice. When the fuel rewards ended I already shifted quite a bit to walmart supercenter. I will still use safeway for some things just because its closer to my house for things I need to go grab quickly but the bulk of my purchasing wont really happen there much anymore. $250 used to mean 125 miles and 20 cents off per gallon and on your way to 30 cents per gallon off. That was quite a nice benefits return on my purchases that I wouldve made at some store regardless....nope Im not ashamed to admit
