I stayed at the Axel in BER last August. Location was fantastic, rooms were clean, and I thought the see-through red glass showers, though cheesy, were an amusingly sexy touch.

The breakfast was decent, the room service was not. For 90 euros a night, I thought it was brilliant. (Of course, the internet did die for about 24 hours--no gay romeo?! How does one survive? lol)

Back in Berlin this coming Easter, and debating whether to stay at the Axel again or try a boutique hotel in the east.

As a Manhattanite I welcome an AxelNY, though think Chelsea would be a better location than HK.
