Delta allows HHonors points into be converted to SkyMiles but not vice versa (only American Airlines, Amtrak, CSA Czech Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair, Mexicana Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways allow that conversion).
If you don't fly Delta and want to use your SkyMiles for hotels, maybe the
SkyMiles Marketplace would work for you.
