It's funny because you are right, it's not really that comfortable and not something you can do for hours. But I find that as I get bored I do end up doing it also. Guess it's just nice to be able to do for a bit on a long flight. I have a bulkhead seat later today so will give it another try (and will take the shoe off although this invariably means less grip which is essential to semi comfortable feet on bulkhead placement!) Hmmm ideally I need to find those socks that have little rubber patches on them for grip...
