Meantime, I've revised my shortlist of potential London hotels for the time being as follows :

1) The Aldwych
2) The Mayfair London
3) The Athenaeum
4) Knightsbridge hotel
5) The Halkin

and KIV others.

not so fast !!

aldwych is a no no IMO and you may be disappointed - IMO a goood hotel but not luxury ....
athenaeum faces green park ...yes but actually seperated by a very busy .... and ugly ....piccadilly road but i guess you would not need to wait for buses as there are a few bus stops along it..

Halkin and knightbridge ......ild sooner die of boredom ....

i ld like to suggest

1 / DUKES [ same management as aldwych ] for the mayfair /soho part of town .....
and
2/ LOWNDES [ jumeriah] knightbridge/belgravia/ chelsea part of town

and do have a look at sohohouse portfolio......to see if their new properties are opened. by the time you get there........dean st for the heart of SOHO [ YUCK ! - very scary place in the late 70s /early 80s...! ]

and ..... metropolitan and connaught could be options too

the list you had ...could do with some ....adjustments
