"Other carriers have massive mileage bonuses, etc. Eg BA has a 100% mileage bonus on all flights for their Gold card holders. I think 100% is a bit nuts, but right now SE get nil."

FlyBoy -- do you actually follow anything on this board or do you just like to get our hearts pumping?

SE get almost the equivalent (or more) providing they fly 100k status miles (90k in accumulated threshold bonuses)--if you fly 150k status miles you will have accumulated 175k bonus miles as SE.

Now if you are not really a top tier flyer, then you won't earn those bonuses at lower status miles on AC Aeroplan. So get with the program and become a top tier flyer so you can actually find out what the benefits are. Check out the Comparison Chart if not sure. I will stack up AC's plan against any of the other Star Alliance Partners (LH Miles and More winning out if you fly paid J and F though). Plus you get the companion any fare ticket at 60k plus you get free lounge access (does AA or UA give you that in North America?). I could go on and on but I think FlyBoy needs to read up a bit before blowing smoke.
