The Manila MO is just not a luxury hotel. The Pen and Shang are the only games in town, and have much better location to Makati shopping and restaurants than MO. I've had very good luck on the Shang club level, but I agree the room design is a bit dated. In return, the rooms at the Pen are smaller.
