i am really surprised to hear OZ is not treating transit passengers very well.
i only had one long transfer from seoul with Koreanair, when i flew Paris-ICN-Shanghai. I had abouty 8 hours in ICN, at first the KO refused to give me a hotel as it was in the peak season, but later offered me a night at Hyatt with great breakfast and transfer. it is always worth calling them and complain, i had to deal koreanair offices in paris, seoul and shanghai...
