You're right that this is an ideal mileage run. However, you'd have to add at least another US$75 to cover US Customs/Immigration and other fees and taxes (and the inbound flight to YYZ, if originating from the US would also have to pay this levy). For those of us living in YYZ, the cost would be about C$675. And since there is only a 3-day minimum stay, it would make for a nice long weekend going out on Thursday and returning Tuesday

Direct mileage YYZ-HNL is just over 5K, so going through ORD or DFW will add another 500 to 1K. As an AA Plat, I would get close to 12K Q-miles and 24K added to my acount. Plus I may be able to upgrade at least the mainland portions of the connections, and pick up another 4 upgrades, more than replacing what I'd use to/from ORD, or replace half of the ones I'd use to DFW. This is about 3-cents Cdn per mile, 2-cents US.
