Even when you know that your flight will cancel or be delayed, AA will not come clean.
I had a paid F ticket recently. The aircraft that was supposed to service my flight had not departed DFW, and would not arrive at my point in time for an on-time departure. My connecting flight was in jeopardy. Only after arriving at check-in, did I get an updated status (even later than I suspected). At this point it was too late to make alternate arrangements with other carriers (they had all departed their last daily flight). I rerouted on AA, and of course ran into more cancellations. To me this sure looks like a marketing strategy to keep all the revenue.
In the end, my paid F ticket was not honoured, was stuck centre seat coach. What was a 6 hour trip, ended up being 15 hours. I have not sat my bum in an AA seat in almost a year. May never again, now that CPlus is not a partner of AA.
