Thanks guys for all your help.

This is irrelevant by now but at least I know it's doable for the future.

Irrelevant as I booked the flights last night and I can not take part in the class anyway. The flights for the Air China promo didn't include my "5.30pm" departure, so I am leaving at 2.20pm in the afternoon. At least it gives me more time to explore Beijing.
