($12.65) BigCrumbs Cash Back (~ 2 months to receive)
($10.60) Ebay Bucks (~ 3 months to receive)
________
$464.34 Net Price for $500.00 Costco Cash Card
So, my net discount is then 1-[(.7999)*(464.34/500.00)] = 25.71% on the six packs of certs I bought today with that Cash Card (I used the leftover funds for lunch and to put a little gas in my tank, having bought the card off Ebay I wanted to use it all as quickly as possible).
I just found out that
MrRebates.com (<-- shameless referral link) gives a 3% rebate on the purchase price, which for a $500 Costco Cash Card comes out a little better than getting the 36% of Ebay fees you get from BigCrumbs that I usually use for Ebay purchases. (I always recommend checking
EVreward to find the best reward program, but if you look at them in this case they don't list MrRebates' 3% back).
I've been going through a lot of these certs and with the new
Southwest Airlines promo I'll be using more than I had planned to just yesterday, so I just ordered yet another Costco Gift Card to buy more (just hoping my local Costco's don't run out in the next week!), with the
MrRebates 3% back my net price for the certs will be:
$525.00 Buy It Now price
$3.25 Shipping & Handling
($42.00) Bing Cash Back instantly
($10.50) Ebay Bucks
($15.75) MrRebates Cash Back
---------
$460.00 Net Price
So my effective discount on the Hyatt certs for this purchase is:
1 - [.7999 x $460.00 / $500.00] = 26.41%, .70% better than my last Costco Cash Card purchase.
