Qantas nearly always use gate in the range 15-17 or even numbered 20-30 gates. My arrival on QF127 on Monday docked at gate 28. I believe there is an attempt to keep the aircraft close to the new Business Class lounge located under gate 16 and the refurbished First Class lounge above gate 15/16.
