I saw a couple of things, he requested a lawyer. At that request questioning has to stop until one is provided.
Police still need probable cause to search a bag even in the secure (sterile) area of the airport.
The man was detained in order to wait for the drug dog, that makes the detainment illegal as the detainment lasted longer than it it should have for any legitimate police concerns. (that last sentence is iffy)
If the BDO stated the man was asking about security PROCEDURES and he was not, that BDO violated the man's civil rights under color of law.
