I don't blame AA one bit. They have selected a very high quality partner (compared to their peers in the industry) to offer trip insurance.
That being said, you should never purchase a policy without reading it completely first (or at least within the termination window).... I would expect United and WN's Trip insurance partners to have similiar practices. Same thing happens in retail... They are in fact providing 50k in Medical coverage, just not what you assumed that you were getting based upon the advertisement.
