Yes you'll be eligible for the upgrade. You own't be at the bottom of the list. You'll be in your Elite Level and Fare Class. Your upgrade request time will put you at the bottom of that group. Basically if you're a PM on a T fare with a Delta Reserve AmEx (the only AmEx that factors into upgrades). You'll be at the bottom of the PM, T, Reserve group as your timestamp is newer.
If you're a PM, and you're seeing 7 F seats open, I'd SDC. Your chances are at least better than you original flight.
