Unfortunately no glitches for awards.

Interesting competitively I think this is stupid for the premium cabins as SQ228 services the more competitive European routes (wheres 238 really services Asian routes, and has little competiton from anyone at the time of day it departs). QF are committed at to flying A380 (albeit not daily yet) on QF9, the competing service to SQ228, which will now be operated by a crappy old regional 773 (I assume - unless more 77A's have started coming online by then). QF will have either an A380 or skybed equipped 747. A couple of hours later EK operate a angled lie flat equipped 777, not to mention TG, MH & CX all operating vastly better business class cabins as well. Good one SQ - NOT.

I guess the upside - should be able to get saver award bookings connecting through (with short connections) to AMS, CPH & FRA in business class once more.
Yes. I found out yesterday. I'm booked on the 228 on jan 1st next year. Was an aircraft change. Spoke to sq today and it will be the newly configured 777-300. Am in Y and the configuration on seat selection shows this too.
