No glitch. AKAIK the "display" feature was added after the higher T+ fares were previously removed from eligibility and it appears that the functionality to show a subset of T+ fares has not yet been added.
Also, since I've never been through the upgrade process before, I was hoping people could correct me if my interpretation is off. After I make the request 4 days before my departure, I go check in at the airport & then show the agent my certificate. I'm confirmed as checked-in and get to play Aerolotto at the gate, where my name will be called if I'm successful in upgrading and at which point, my certificate will be asked for. Otherwise, if I'm not successful, I still get to keep my upgrade certificate.
Not quite. If you request your upgrade at 4 days, there is a good chance your upgrade will be confirmed right away in which case you don't play aerolotto. Otherwise you'll be waitlisted. Keep checking your reservation prior to OLCI to see if you've been upgraded. 24 hrs prior to departure the waitlist is reset and you need to re-request your upgrade at check in (best to use OLCI); it is when you request your upgrade at check in that you play aerolotto.
