Does anyone know how one is assigned a booking class within a fare type? I typically fly T+ and know that if I'm booked in M or U on a T+ fare, I am eligible to use a SWU/NAU. However, when planning my trips for the year and using the dummy certificate codes, the only fares eligible for SWU/NAU upgrade that show up are Latitude - no T+, which is a bit of a disappointment.
I was playing around with this today at school. I looked at fares from YYZ-SFO with and without the SWU upgrade. I looked at a few connecting flights; there was a YYZ-YVR in U and then YVR-SFO in some non-eligible class. When I typed in the SWU code, all Latitude. Therefore, I suspect that for a T+ option to show, all segments have to be on eligible fares.
But then it gets weirder. I search YYZ-YVR for the same day, type in the SWU code, and only Latitude fares show up. But in my previous experiment, I
absolutely know that there are T+ YYZ-YVR flights in U fare ... but all I can choose is Latitude
