I'm working on a possible pleasure trip to YYT (St. John's, Nfld) for mid-May, and in examining my flight options my most logical USA/Canada entry/exit points are Toronto or Halifax. While I suspect things will change between now and May given the current USA-entry hysteria after the Christmas Day events, I'd still be interested in the following:

(3) Help understanding the baggage claim/re-check req'ts (and for that matter, carry-on limitations) at the entry/exit points.
(4) Any other related discussion/opinions.

The CO flight is the most logical choice.
If you want to experience insanity, connect in YYZ. YHZ is a much smaller airport and you will clear much more quickly than if you arrive in YYZ at the same time as several other U.S. flights.
