How do Medallion members usually acquire an award ticket for another (friend, family, whatever) without actually flying with them?
You won't have quite as many choices in "low" at the 25K level, since you don't get to use expanded Medallion award inventory if you're not Medallion or traveling with a Medallion (which is why you should leave this box unchecked).

Anyone with a SM account can of course book a ticket for whomever they wish, whether they are joining them for the trip or not, Medallion or Member alike. Just make sure the passenger name is right the first time - once it's ticketed, you won't be able to change it later.
