Don't be too sad about it.. it will be back when the summer comes around.

AC is just suspending the flight for now. Milton have already said that the flight will return in the summer.

Flights to HKG are typically not that full this time of the year, so it would make sense to just operate a 747 aircraft all the way from YYZ - HKG.... Remember flying both the A340 and 747 means AC needs to fill 700+ seats to HKG everyday and no way they can do that at this time of the year so it's a good move from an economical viewpoint.
