I am not sure what you mean by a "few years" but in '09 I did get an offer, as I had before, to enter SPG as what I remember to have been PLAT level. I did not pay much attention as I had not intended to accept [I was already with HH and I do not split my 'loyalty']. I will pay attention the next time the offer comes in the mail.
