They had to pay for food/drinks and the seats were extremely uncomfortable for a transatlantic flight. However, the food/drinks issue shouldn't be the case on the SEA-REK route, because it is significantly longer than JFK-REK.
I believe I've read that the product is much better on longer flights. Regardless, I'm excited for another award option to Europe, one that will (hopefully) not have excessive fuel taxes or nearly so much competition for award seats. To me Icelandair seems like a huge win.
