To not rain on anyone's parade, but my friends flew on Icelandair last summer from JFK-REK and they both vowed to never fly on Icelandair again. They had to pay for food/drinks and the seats were extremely uncomfortable for a transatlantic flight. However, the food/drinks issue shouldn't be the case on the SEA-REK route, because it is significantly longer than JFK-REK.

In this scenario, AS will lose more revenue than DL/AA since there are far more DL/AA elites than AS.... Hopefully, they will be able to work out a deal [even if it is only one bag] with either airline. Kudos to AS for trying to make this happen! ^

I will not even try to discuss the bennies in detail since I will likely state something incorrectly, and what's there may be changed before implemented in the system (the goal is to have the benefits available online in time for the first person who would qualify this year to benefit). MissyDarlin or someone who was at the luncheon! Spill the beans to us! What are the bennies for the "75K Gold" tier?!?! Any major highlights? Will there be any changes in MVPG and MVP benefits to make way for the new tier [I hope not]?
