If spending time at the hotel is not an essential part of the experience, then I would skip The Connaught. I really like it there, but you'll have to spend up to get a large room. I like staying there because I like the service and spending time in the bars/public areas. If you're hitting the town for most of the day, that might not be of much value to you.
