I flew FRA-IAH yesterday (Plat, L fare) and the plane was pretty much one person per seat set (1,1,1). No upgrade for me. It's an easy flight to sleep on since it leaves so late, even sitting in Y.
This is same load situation as last winter. CO (and others) have made a decision to not sell TATL tickets at rock bottom prices - hence the load factors are down. Cheapest RT tickets to Europe this winter (like last winter) are typically in the $500-700 range.
In the past the airlines would dump the winter TATL inventory with cheap seats in the $300-400 RT range - and the flights would fill up.
