Now, I'm sure in the Ts&Cs there is verbiage akin to "prices may change before your eyes," but it was not clear to me. I'm a longtime flyer of AA, one of the first ExecPlats in the late 90s, and I feel this was a bait-and-switch.

When a fare/award res is HELD, isn't there an expectation that the seats are held, fare is held, award mileage is held, inventory, fees, taxes, passenger details, etc.???

Maybe they should be clear about WHAT EXACTLY is being "held," or recode the software to have the hold date coterminate with the fee window for that res.

The reservation & seat assignment are held to the expiration of the hold.
The fare is only guaranteed for 24 hours. But if the fare expires (for example at midnight today due to an advance purchase requirement - ie 7 days) then the hold shows only up to midnight today instaed of a later date.

If u try and ticket inside 24 hours and the fare goes up you have to call AA and they will honor the held fare. Again, must be 24 hours or less. After 24 hours it is what ever the current fare is. Some times it is midnight the next day which can be slightly more then 24 hours.
