You should have no problem in New Zealand, most of our creditcards not have chips. The banks don't think that they are any better than the magnetic strips.

Just watch ive noticed in Australia alot of shops have a minimum purchase price of $10-20 when paying buy card. Should not even a problem in NZ, its normal to put 50cents on a card!
