Can be done, but . . .

I've made connections this tight in HNL before, but I don't check luggage and I would never schedule something this close if it were onto the last flight of the day to my final destination. HA has kiosk check-in in the Inter-island Terminal, but it's even better to do it on-line 24 hours out. If you must check bags, have small children or someone in your party is not a good brisk walker, you might want to try a later HA flight. If you still want to try this after all that, one last tip would be to get a seat as close to the front of the incoming plane as possible, especially if it's a 753.
