Hey William--

A bunch of us (3 couples) went to Ptown last year over the Valentine's day weekend. We had a blast. Is it cold, yes. Is the town completely different compared to the summer, yes. But that was what made it special.

Many of the stores "downtown" are closed for the season -- but a handful remain open. The same is true for the restaurants. But we didn't have a hard time finding anywhere to eat or anywhere to drink. The local bar (the name escapes me) had a decent number of people there and we met a bunch of great people.

We even think we may go back this year, so I'd give it two thumbs up. That said, I'd try to say somewhere very central to downtown so that you aren't far from what is open. Good luck!
