From page 7 of the 2000 AAdvantage Platinum Membership Guide:

First Class Check-in And Pre-boarding

"...as an AAdvantage Platinum member, you may check in at any American Airlines First Class check-in position, regardless of the class of service in which you're traveling. This benefit is available at any airport throughout the world offering a First CLass check-in position."

I belive that the gentleman in the suit was wrong. As an EXP, you definitely had the right to be in the FC line, regardless of whether or not they were saving the FC line so that FC passengers could go straight to the counter. He should not have been directing AA EXP & PLT to the BC line. Too bad KP wasn't there to "straighten him out for you!" (we need to watch each other's backs

One of your benefits as EXP (and for us mere PLT's ) is that your check-in line is that much shorter b/c you do not have to use the BC line (along with the GLD).

I love it when I get to an airport, see that the check-in line has ~1,000+ people, the BC line has ~20, and the FC has only one person (ME!).
