Hi David,

because it is true even if you are conecting to TATL flight. For example, I flew SYD (UA) SFO (LH) FRA and had to re-check my luggage between the two flights!!! And did I say anything about domestic connection in my message? I did not.

You can do that in Germany - if flying to HAM via FRA (did it!!!), you do not have to collect your luggage in FRA.

And then, it works basically throughout the Schengen part of EU - you clear immigration in the first Schengen port, but customs only at your destination. For example, you clear immigration in FRA, but collect your bags and do customs in BSL - as I often do...
