Thanks For The Reports - Enjoyed The CCR 2009 Holidays

Thanks for this thread, I too was wondering what the difference is in the 2 lounges. I was at the spah and they apparently mistakenly told me I could only use the CCR and not the GF as a long haul F pax. But it sounds like I did not miss much in the GF.

On both uses of the CCR I reserved a cabana for 3-4 hours and enjoyed it a lot. It was perfect to shower, change, charge electronic equipment, go on the internet, etc. Also appreciated the nice large glass bottles of water.

Of course it might be nice if it had a bed, and also I think the old T4 showers in the spah had better water pressure. I was not that impressed with the water pressure in the CCR cabanas. I really like strong water pressure, and its difficult to find lounges and hotels that offer this. Again the T4 shower I took when flying the Concorde had better water pressure and also a steam shower. I am not sure if the spah showers in T5 have the steam option?

On one visit the staff also said in the cabanas the call buttons were not working. There have also been some posts about the noise the showers make when they drain. This did not bother me, though again, I would very much have liked stronger water pressure.

Now some of the food items in the CCR were kind of small but of course you can order as much food as you want so it was not a big deal.

Most all the staff especially at the BA desks in the lounge were friendly, professional, and tactful on both visits.

On one trip I did go to the lounge in the B concourse and that after having spent several hours in the CCR felt a bit like going to the ghetto . Though they did have some good sounding food, but all items and drinks apparently self service.

If I have another opportunity to transit LHR on BA in first I would book a long layover in order to enjoy some time in the CCR.

I mostly fly in the USA so obviously the service in BA first and in the CCR was over the top and a lot better than I'm used to on our airlines in the states.
