In the past the SC agents have been able to go a few extra steps compared to terminal GAs for many requests. That may be seat changes at the last minute, IRROPS assistance or itin re-routing. Often they can a little more than SMS since they are at the airport.

Usually the SC agents are a little more seasoned and try to help compared to GAs who offer automatic "no" responses like "flight is sold out, can't move you" or "you can't standby for this flight" even though with the right elite status you can. The latter has occurred many more times than it should, particularly if its a DL connection flight.

When a flight is cx'd and a long line forms at the GA, I immediately head to the club and often get re-booked directly into F rather than just a middle seat on the plane.

Small things but over the years they have helped me many, many times.
