Would this work in your opinion/experiences?
We traveled via FS SUV from the MO in Chiang Mai to the Tented Camp in 2007 - charge was US$250 and well worth it for a comfortable, pleasant drive. Agree with whoever upthread advised to avoid the Karen "long neck" village detour that is an option en route. Really creepy as the villagers seem to be the subject of unfortunate exploitation and it really felt almost more like a trip to the zoo than a visit to an actual working village. Sad.

Also concur with those who say two nights is not enough - I would say 3 nights at an absolute minimum, we did four and could happily stayed for another night.
