I can't help with a UK based TA, but lots of people use them. When booking longhaul, my strategy always is to look at:
  • The airline websites - and US or UK versions
  • ITA also, 'cos it's not always the same
  • The major consolidator sites (and their mirrors with other countries .co.uk, .fr, .de, .ie)
  • A regular travel agent
