When I checked into the Business class check in, I was told that Economy was to her left and to move out of the way for Business class. I showed her my ticket and was looked up and down as if I was not approved. then the same thing happened at the gate. they announced seating for CW and as I waited, the GA told me in a stern voice "Young man, this is CW seating only". I gave her my boarding pass and quickly moved along. Take a wild guess what happened when I sat down? Yep, it happened with the FA AND the older gentlemen sitting next to me. I showed both my boarding pass and the guy asked to be seated elsewhere. I had never felt so embarassed.
Since my mid teenage years I've travelled regularly with BA (mostly F and Club Europe, FWIW) and have been BA Gold for most of that time. I don't dress up to fly and am often flying solo.

In hundreds of flights I've not once been accused of being in the wrong line, sitting in the wrong seat, or anything like you mention. The occasional 'Are you travelling First today' comments when approaching the guardian for the LHR First check-in desk, but IMO that is a reasonable question!

To have the check-in person, gate agent and flight attendant on the same FLIGHT accuse you of being in wrong place either says something about you or that this story is a little close to fantasy.
