the bottom line on the long thread is that it is a good deal, but it can cost money to use BA miles (so it may not be worth it for coach BA tickets if you are flying from the US east coast to Europe) or it can be a pain in the butt to convert them to American Airlines (AA) award flights or something else
In spite of the drawbacks, it's a really good deal... good enough that no self-respecting FTer should think twice before taking the plunge.
