Of the properties you mentioned above do you have any favorites? I've looked at a number of the threads on the individual properties but its hard to get a real comparison having never been to the properties myself.
Sheraton Carlsbad.
It's still relatively new. Opened Jan 2008 I believe. It has a resort feel with a good-size swimming pool, a decent club lounge, fitness center and spa facilities.
It's a short 5-min drive to shopping (Carlsbad Premium Outlets) and 10-min drive to the beach. Crossings at Carlsbad golf course is just behind the resort and there's some top courses nearby as well (Aviara, La Costa).
And it's adjacent to Legoland with a shared private entrance. Although you won't be able to take your 1-yrd old on most rides, you'd still be able to enjoy Mini-Land, Fairy Tale Brook, Coast Cruise and a few other attractions:
