Your flights are operated by US Airways Express; therefore, your incoming flight should land in Terminal E in CLT and your departing should take off from Terminal E; therefore, you won't have a long walk between gates. With regional jets, they typically don't start the boarding until 20 minutes from departure; therefore, you have 25 minutes for delays, walking between gates and etc.

If your flights are arriving and taking off from different concourses, it could be tight especially if your incoming flight is late.

Last spring, there was a storm in the CLT area which caused our flight to CLT to sit for an hour before we could take off. Since I had gate-checked luggage, it took over 10 minutes for the gate-checked luggage to get unloaded. I made it to the gate at 10 minutes before departure time...they already closed the door to the jetway. They gave away my seat...I was sitting in FC (upgraded) and the plane was full. The rest of the direct flights to PHX from CLT were oversold (my flight was 10:00AMish).

At first, they wanted to put me on a flight to JFK then do a standby for a flight to PHX. I said no. Then they want me to fly to Detroit and do a standby for a flight to PHX. Again, I said no. They finally were able to put me on flights (not direct) but I did got back to PHX about 12 hours later than my original flight.

I think that you will be okay if your flight from MEM is on time to CLT since your departing flight should take off from the same concourse.
