Mileage upgrades potentially can clear at booking or well before flight time. UDU can only clear inside the status time window. So especially if you can get them to clear at booking, miles have an edge. Once you get to the gate, no difference (at least presently compared to e500s -- we will have to see what happens with UDU -- but as a 2P I what not expect much out of UDU).

everyone pays the copay -- not waived for anyone. As to if it should be waived for some that is a different question for a different thread.
