International transit in SYD

Parents are flying EDI-LHR-SIN-SYD-AKL and as such will be doing an international transit in SYD. I'm hopeful that the situation in Australia means they will be treated as an international transit, and won't have to clear customs and immigration (and reclaim and recheck bags - they are on a single PNR), - am I correct? Other threads I found seemed to suggest this was so! While they've travelled around Europe no problem, they can get a bit phased by this mind of multi leg itinerary, and since they are not stopping over at SIN, may be a bit braindead by the time they hit SYD, so I want them to have this information in advance!

The SYD-AKL is also in J, although they are coming in on WT+, so I suspect they will have lounge access at SYD. While not mainline QF, they are on Jetconnect - am I correct in thinking they have access to the QF lounge? And if so, which one - domestic or international?

Thanks for the help! The parents think I'll know about a whole range of stuff in countries I've never actually made it to yet, and I'm sure I do with the help of many other FTers
