I flew YYZ to ORD today as well. The security is insane. A couple points: They have the slowest metal detector line possible. The women maning the x-ray machine for my line would stand up and check EVERY single bag after viewing it on the screen. Every single bag. Even though there were other security people standing around she insisted on doing double duty: X-ray monitoring and bag check. There were maybe 6 or 7 people in front of me when I got the security line and I didn't get through for 45 minutes. No exaggeration. Ridiculous.

Then the extra pat-downs before the gates.....first off you mentioned if your gate was before B11 you wouldn't have to go through this....unfortunately B11 is the first gate with US flights so everyone has to go through this ordeal. The RCMP were friendly...but wow did this stink of disorganization. people waving, yelling, etc. Terrible crowd control. Worst airport in North America by far. Not to mention the highest ticket tax (on the planet?)
