Portugal for 9 days?
A friend and I are planning a trip to Western Europe. Neither of us has been to Portugal so we decided that would be our destination. We plan on being there for 9 days. Relatively speaking Portugal is a small country and I was wondering if anyone can offer any insight on what to do while visiting and rail passes. We have no set plans as far as cities go other than Lisbon. Would we best suited to purchase a Portugal Rail pass or should we just try to hit one or two cities more with individual tickets? I'm not sure how dynamic the country is and if 9 days would be too much to spend in only one country. We were also thinking about getting Spain Portugal pass if 9 days in Portugal got a little monotonous. I am open to any and all suggestions. We're both young and just looking to for good food, nightlife and whatever else might come our way. I know these are broad questions, but like I said we have never been and what i've researched doesn't seem to help much. Hopefully someone with firsthand experiences can offer some direction.
