The OPs message made it seem like he didn't get to board. That would imply that the TA did not offer Voluntary Separation (VS). If I'm reading the link AndyTLe provided DL is no longer offering it. That's seems unnecessarily punitive, in particular when DL is so nonchalant about lost luggage.
